For this year’s Iceland Golf event we will be again raising money for the Iceland Foods Charitable Foundation, to enable us to continue supporting vital projects within our four core areas of Dementia, Environment, Wellbeing and Children. As the cost-of-living crisis continues we are very conscious that the pressures our charity partners still face are even greater than ever, and we need to do everything we can do to help.

Iceland Foods Charitable Foundation has donated an incredible £34 million to date but we want to do more. Through our 'Dementia: let's beat it' campaign we have focused on fundraising for dementia research, donating £10m to help fund construction of the new UK Dementia Research Institute at UCL (due to open in 2025), over £5m to Alzheimer's Research UK and £1.5m to Alzheimer's Society. Last year, in our 50th anniversary year, we donated £1.1 million to The National Brain Appeal to help build the world’s first Rare Dementia Support Centre.

We have co developed resources with The UK Sepsis Trust to raise vital awareness of Sepsis symptoms, resources now used by companies and schools throughout the UK. In 2023 we supported World Sepsis Day by including a sepsis label and QR Code on all milk cartons, including sepsis leaflets in home and online deliveries, as well as our Iceland Vans featuring a ‘Could it be Sepsis’ sticker. IFCF donated £1m to Prostate Cancer UK and we recently worked with them to promote their online 30 second risk checker to the public.

Our support for children’s charities to help change lives and tackle poverty has resulted in over £7 million in donations. In 2020 we became lead partner of Action for Children’s ‘Secret Santa’ Campaign, making every single one of our team a Secret Santa by donating £280,000, which represented £10 on behalf of each of our amazing colleagues. In December 2021 we continued this partnership and once again gave £10 on behalf of each of our colleagues, donating a further £300,000 to create an Action for Children ‘Iceland Winter Fund’. Our stores' 2022 charity partner was Action for Children, continuing our support of their vital work to help children overcome abuse, neglect, poverty, and poor mental health.

Our 'Backyard Nature Campaign' has inspired 750,000 hours for children in nature. We continue to pledge our support for Surfers Against Sewage as lead partner of the Million Mile Clean in 2024, which we have supported since 2021.  We have backed ambitious plans by Wildlife Trust Wales to seek the restoration of all Welsh peatlands by 2030.

In 2024 we have chosen to partner with Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM), a suicide prevention charity.  Not only will we be raising essential funds for their helpline but also encouraging our colleagues and customers across the UK to Break the Ice, by starting 5 million lifesaving conversations.

All the causes our Foundation supports have huge potential to change lives for the better, and we believe it is more important than ever that we continue to raise money and support the great work that they are doing. Please accept heartfelt thanks from Iceland Foods Charitable Foundation and our partner charities for helping us to achieve these goals together, which will benefit so many.
